The Purpose of a Demo Reel

When aspiring speakers approach me for advice, the first thing I ask for is a demo reel. While they might be an expert in crypto currency, have a podcast, or even be a bestselling author, a demo reel is the medium that summarizes and communicates that speaker's potential.

When a bureau is pitching on your behalf, or a client is considering you for a talk, they're going to look at your demo reel for a snap shot of your energy, sound bites, and past work on a variety of stages. It's through the demo reel that the client gets a feel for your style and essence, and it often can be the difference between someone saying yes or no to hearing you speak.
